Recreating a Shovel-nose Canoe in the Willamette Valley style. Carving commenced at Grand Ronde in January 2011 and completed in May 2011 at WHC. The Cedar for this canoe was generously donated by the Willamette National Forest.This Canoe Recreation is made possible, in part, by a grant from Oregon Humanities (OH), a statewide nonprofit organization and an independent affiliate of the National Endowment for the Humanities, which funds OH’s grant program.
